Home staging is a valuable tool when it comes to selling your Sedona home. It can

help to showcase your property's best features, make it more appealing to potential buyers, and increase its value. While many realtors or homeowners choose to hire a

professional home stager to help with the process, for various reasons it’s not

always feasible. Yes, it is possible to stage your home without a stager if you have

a good eye and are not too faint of heart. Here are some tips to help you stage your

home on your own:

Declutter and Depersonalize

One of the most important steps (and sometimes one of the most difficult ones) in home staging is to declutter and depersonalize the space. This means removing personal items such as family photos, artwork, and clutter, to create a more neutral. and inviting atmosphere. Clear the counters, dressers, vanities, and other horizontal surfaces of all non-essentials. But don’t worry. You don’t have to discard these items. If necessary, consider renting a storage unit to store excess furniture and belongings.

Rearrange Furniture

Another key aspect of home staging is arranging furniture in a way that maximizes

the space and creates a good flow. This may involve removing some excess

furniture and rearranging pieces to highlight key features while creating more open

space. Then accessories such as rugs and throw pillows may be added to create a

cozy feel. Remove heavy window coverings which limit light and make a room

feel dark. Think light, bright, and airy! If you have a few of Sedona's red hills, show it off!

Clean and Repair

A clean and well-maintained home is more appealing to potential buyers. Before staging your home, be sure to deep clean and make any necessary repairs, such as fixing leaky faucets, replacing broken tiles, and repainting scuffed walls. Clean windows frame a view and invite the beautiful Sedona outdoors in.

Add some Pops of Color

Neutral is a good start for home staging but adding some pops of color can help to

create a more inviting and lively atmosphere in your home. You achieve this by

adding colorful, artwork, flowers or throw pillows. Don’t overdo it—no one needs

twelve pillows on the couch!

Highlight your Property's Best Features

Finally, be sure to highlight your property's best features, such as a beautiful

fireplace or a stunning view. You can do this by arranging furniture to showcase

these features, adding some accent lighting, or hanging artwork that draws the eye

toward the feature.

You really can create a more appealing and inviting atmosphere in your Sedona

home. There is a ton of information available on the internet regarding home décor

and staging. Utilize your resources and have a little fun—even if you’re not

planning to move!
